If you want to win, you have to enter! The Best 2011 Opportunities

Now that Bob finally has more time to seriously concentrate on painting, we  want to enter his watercolors in some of the best competitions, both locally, and across the country.  It’s often hard for artists to track all the deadlines!  So here are a few that we hope to consider.  We’ll be updating this list as we track and enter competitions!

American Artist

Alabama Watercolor Society
Cash awards and juried exhibition at Tennessee Valley Museum of Art May 15th – July 8th, 2011. Deadline for receipt of entries February 11th, 2011. Please download prospectus above

American Watercolor Society
Annual Exhibition. Submissions are due in November, Exhibition is at the Salmagundi Art Club in NYC in April/May. Any artist who has exhibited in 2 previous AWS Annuals may be considered for signature membership.

National Watercolor Society
“The National Watercolor Society brings before the public the best of water media painting, representing a wide range of directions and technique, from experimental to traditional and encourages support for watercolor as a vital, enduring and expressive medium.”

Signature membership in National Watercolor Society
“A non-member or NWS Associate whose painting is accepted for annual exhibition will be contacted by the Society President and will be invited to apply for Signature membership by submitting three matted paintings (not including the exhibited work) that will be reviewed by the Jury of Selection. Artists whose work meets the qualifications of this Jury will be invited to become Signature Members of the Society.”

Paint America
Includes two Annual Competitions “The PaintAmerica Top100 is an annual juried competition and exhibition designed to showcase the finest emerging and established representative American painters. Representative art may depict any subject matter, including the beauty and grandeur of American nature, landscape, seascape, cityscape, still-life, wildlife, portraits, cityscapes, figurative, etc.”
