Why words and watercolor?

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

We’ve been asked, “Why the tagline, in words and watercolor?”  Although the images do speak for themselves, we’re hoping that we can provide additional written information about each watercolor, either from our own experience, or via others, that will capture a more compelling memory.

Bob prefers to be called an  illustrator, as opposed to the term “artist”, and his paintings are often vivid illustrations of a shared experience. The painting, in context, always includes the story behind it – why we or others were there, the history of the site that he painted, what we learned from the experience, or even what new painting technique Bob used that might be of interest to others. Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but we’re hoping that our words, as well as the words of others will enrich each image! We’d love to hear from you!
